Ballz

Introducing 'The Ballz' - a playful and whimsical art piece created for the 'Made from Scraps' group exhibition, curated by the Vancouver Art Community. Challenged to turn a bag of textile offcuts into something special, I got to work cutting thousands of small strips and tying them individually onto a custom-made wire frame.

The process was slow and labour-intensive, but the end result was worth it. The Ballz are cheeky, playful, and fun - the perfect addition to any space needing some uplift or whimsy. Onlookers interpret the ballz in many different ways - some say they look like quirky monsters, while others see pom poms or sprites from Studio Ghibli.

I love hanging up my Ballz and watching people laugh and smile as they see them and all their texture-y goodness!
